After exploring Cathedral Cove, we borrowed some spades from the hostel and drove to Hot Water Beach. In some spots on the beach, you can dig a hole during low tide and hot water will bubble up. Ideally, you can create your own personal hot spring. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were already many tourists there who had taken up the entire area that provided hot water. Granted, the area that provides hot water is small to begin with. We tried digging a few holes nearby, but only cold water sprang forth. Pillars of steam rose from the hot water in the other tourists holes, but we could not enjoy it’s warmth. By the time we returned to the car, my feet were almost numb. It was worth a try though!
